Meet The Team
Daniel and Anna Cherian
Daniel became pastor at Bethel in May 2019, after serving for many years in India, something he still does remotely while living in the UK.
Daniel is our current leader of the preaching ministry and has a desire to see Bethel grow and become a church that will become a new generation for God. As an anointed and engaging speaker, Daniel’s wish is for the church to fulfil its destiny, and for every believer to engage in God’s purpose, and find their place in His plans. He is also a gifted worship leader and plays the guitar.
Anna Cherian is a member of the leadership team and helps nurture our younger believers, being a part of our Bethel Kids Sunday school team also. She is an influential speaker and has a natural talent for comedic effect, but is also an encouraging leader and wants nothing more than to see the members of our Church nurtured and cared for.
Daniel and Anna have a 16-year-old son, Samuel (born in 2007) who manages a portion of the media side of Bethel, plays the Cajon for our worship team, and also helps with Bethel Kids and similar youth events.
Peter Kay
Peter is an Elder, and is certainly not a well-known northern comedian. He has been at Bethel since the 1970s and comes from a family with a long history of connection to the Church.
Peter contributes to the preaching ministry and serves as administrator. He also lends support to a school and community projects in Lusaka, Zambia.
Peter is married to Susan, and has two adult children, David and Joanne.
Nigel and Michelina Atkins
Husband and wife Nigel and Michelina joined Bethel in 2015 after awaiting God’s prompting for the next stage in their ministry following many years of serving Him in a variety of roles.
Nigel became our Community Pastor in 2019 and provides much needed preaching ministry as well as leading worship and coordinating Alpha courses.
Michelina is our Community Outreach And Prayer Co-Ordinator, and, together with Nigel, has a desire for Bethel to be at the heart of the local community, and be a place where people can discover Jesus. She also develops the prayer life of the church as well as contributing to the preaching ministry.
They have two adult children, Daniel and Sarah.
Haydn Sharman
Haydn is the grandson of former Bethel pastor Hector Evans, and has been a member of BCF for most of his life.
He is an Elder and serves as Co-Treasurer. As well as contributing to the preaching ministry, he also helps lead worship, plays the drums, and has been known to produce some bizarre Christmas comedy sketches!
Haydn is married to Steph, and has two adult daughters, Nerissa and Bryony.
The Deacons
Our team of Deacons consists of Malcolm Hannah (front row, first left), Dennis Simpson (front row, second left), Sue Wright (front row, second right), and Wayne Harris (back row, right side), who all offer solid spiritual advice and administrative support to our leadership team.
All our Deacons also engage in their own many and varied ministries.
